Please keep in mind, however, that precious material in particular needs to be cared for. Even normal environmental influences can cause dirt build-up and even surface changes. Deposits in the form of rust film can occur and the material can be attacked, particularly in industrial metropolitan areas or near the sea. Here, systems should be cleaned and maintained more frequently.
Stainless steel
Among other things, we use stainless steel for our products. When used and cared for as intended, this steel is characterised by its resistance to water, steam, humidity, food acids and weak organic and inorganic acids. After the letterbox has been installed, it should be cleaned for the first time so that any impurities caused by storage, transport or construction or assembly residues is removed. Protective layers of paper, foils or adhesive residues must be completely removed after assembly, as they can lead to corrosion. The letterbox should then be cared for approx. every 3 - 4 weeks. We recommend our stainless steel care oil spray for this purpose. Please note: Cleaning agents must not contain any hydrochloric acid, chlorides or hydrocarbons. Under no circumstances should steel wool, steel brushes or similar be used when cleaning stainless steel, as such aids damage the protective surface and allow the formation of extraneous rust through abrasion. Signs of corrosion caused by rust film are excluded from the warranty. Stainless steel surfaces should always be cleaned in the direction of the brush.
Aluminium
Oxide-dissolving or mechanical cleaning agents must not be used, as they attack the anodised layer. Please note! Protect aluminium parts from cement, lime, plaster, etc.
Glass/plexiglass
Acrylic glass (plexiglass) should not come into contact with organic solvents such as thinners, alcohols, fuels, etc. Glass cleaners also usually contain alcohol. Only use clear water with a few drops of washing-up liquid and a soft sponge for cleaning. Dust should never be wiped away when dry.
Powder coatings
Water and small amounts of a mild detergent can be used to clean the powder coating surface. If absolutely necessary, a small amount of white spirit can also be used. Then rinse with water and a mild detergent!
Polished surfaces
We recommend weekly cleaning and sealing with car wax at least four times a year for painted surfaces! Only use clear water with a few drops of washing-up liquid and a soft sponge for cleaning. Painted surfaces must also be dried and sealed with car polish. Please note: Do not use cleaning agents containing vinegar.
