Fingerprints technology can be found in hundreds of millions of devices and applications and is used billions of times every day. Thanks to it, secure and convenient fingerprint identification and authentication is possible.

In our DoorBird IP door stations and IP access control devices, we combine excellent biometric performance and security, high-quality components and a capacitive touch sensor.

The enrollment of a new fingerprint is conveniently done in conjunction with the DoorBird app or our web-based administration tool at https://webadmin. doorbird.com. If access needs to be revoked, a fingerprint can also be deleted remotely in real time.

Access permissions can be limited to specific days and times. This allows you to determine who can enter your home or building and when. You can also specify individually per fingerprint what action should be performed, such as triggering relay 1 or 2, controlling an IP I/O door controller, accessing an HTTP(s) URL, arming or disarming an alarm system, opening a smart lock, or triggering an event in the building automation system.

The fingerprint reader does not lose functionality even under severe weather conditions; it was designed specifically for such conditions. In terms of security, convenience and speed, the capacitive, whole-image touch sensor is effectively superior to line-based models and also allows for a lower installation height.

Privacy & Security: The reader does not store fingerprint images. It only stores one template per fingerprint in the form of a mathematically calculated hash value. Biometric characteristics are neither transmitted to the DoorBird door station nor to the app or cloud. Thus, our system meets the highest data protection and data security standards.

In addition, the fingerprint reader has a mechanism that prevents manipulation attempts and temporarily locks the system after 5 unauthorized access attempts. To further enhance security, the fingerprint reader itself has no built-in relays. Instead, you can safely trigger a detached relay using the DoorBird IP I/O Door Controller A1081 connected to a DoorBird IP Video Door Station.
